Tropical update: Tropical Depression 14 forms in southwestern Gulf of Mexico
SUMMARY: Clear conditions are present in Houston, although isolated showers are reported just offshore near Galveston, with potential inland movement. A low-pressure system near the US-Mexico border has been classified as a tropical depression by the National Hurricane Center, expected to shift northeast, away from Southeast Texas. A cold front arriving Tuesday will further protect the area. Meanwhile, hurricanes Kirk and Leslie are currently over open water and pose no threat to Texas, while the next named storm, Milton, could enter the Gulf soon. Cooler, drier weather is predicted by Wednesday, leading to comfortable conditions with temperatures in the 60s.

Venezuelan gang members tied up Dallas woman during robbery, docs say
SUMMARY: Court documents reveal that five men arrested for beating and robbing a Dallas woman last month are linked to a Venezuelan street gang. Four suspects are now in custody after one provided names and an address to police. The robbery occurred on September 21, when the woman was forced into her home at gunpoint, assaulted, and tied up. The suspects stole jewelry valued at $775,000. A fingerprint led to Manuel Hernandez, 28, who admitted involvement and named accomplices. Three suspects were arrested following a SWAT standoff, and all face immigration holds. The investigation continues.
After Manuel Hernandez-Hernandez was arrested, he told Dallas Police that the other men were a part of the El Anti-Tren criminal street gang.
