USF, UTampa among colleges under investigation for antisemitic complaints
SUMMARY: The University of South Florida (USF) and the University of Tampa are among 60 colleges receiving letters from the Department of Education over antisemitic discrimination complaints. USF’s investigation follows pro-Palestinian protests, prompting updated policies on discrimination and protest guidelines for Fall 2024. USF reaffirmed its commitment to combating antisemitism and providing a safe environment. The University of Tampa’s letter concerns a September 2023 student incident, resolved through the student conduct process. Both universities condemned hate and discrimination, with USF participating in Hillel International’s Campus Climate Initiative to address antisemitism.
