Tropical Storm Gordon moving; could Helene form soon?
SUMMARY: Jessica Dobson from Fox 35 Storm Team provides a Saturday update on tropical storm Gordon, currently in the South Central Atlantic. Gordon is expected to weaken and unlikely to impact any land, moving west at 9 mph with winds of 45 mph. It is encountering unfavorable conditions, possibly transitioning to a tropical depression. Additionally, another non-tropical system may form near the Carolinas, which could bring rain but is not expected to significantly affect Florida. The next named storm could be Helen if development occurs. No imminent threats are posed to Florida, aside from rough surf along the coast.
Tropical Storm Gordon continues to slowly make its way across the Atlantic, according to the National Hurricane Center. No impacts to Florida. There is a disturbance off the coast of the southeastern United States that could potentially become Tropical Storm Helene next week.

Nearly half are spending more than recommended on rent: U.S. Census Bureau

86-year-old Cuban man shares story of being political prisoner caught by Castro's forces
