Tropical Storm Debby expected to form this weekend, warnings issued in Florida
SUMMARY: Potential Tropical Cyclone 4, now known as potential tropical system number four or future Tropical Storm Debbie, is heading toward Florida this weekend. Currently off the coast of Cuba with maximum winds of 30 mph, it’s expected to cross Cuba today and impact the Florida West Coast from Saturday night through Sunday night. Preparations should be made today for potential rain, tornadoes, and flooding, with forecasts indicating 7 to 15 inches of rain possible. A state of emergency has been declared, urging residents to prepare, as the storm may bring significant rainfall and flash flooding despite limited wind concerns.
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Potential Tropical Cyclone Four, formerly known as Invest 97L, has a strong chance of becoming a tropical depression, and potentially Tropical Storm Debby this weekend near Florida.

Rays’ stadium deal in peril after team letter, commission vote | Florida
SUMMARY: The Tampa Bay Rays are reconsidering plans for a $1.2 billion stadium in St. Petersburg after the Pinellas County Commission postponed a vote on $312.5 million in bonds, essential for funding. The St. Petersburg City Council will also vote on repairing roof damage from Hurricane Milton, which costs $55 million. The Rays will play their next season at George Steinbrenner Field and pay the Yankees $15 million, raising concerns about the $1 million annual payment to the county for a new stadium. St. Petersburg Mayor Ken Welch remains hopeful about the partnership moving forward despite delays jeopardizing the 2028 stadium opening.
