Trooper helps lost grandmother reported missing in Dallas
SUMMARY: A missing grandmother in Texas was found hundreds of miles away, stranded along I-40 without gas. Trooper Jon Jones, en route to a meeting, spotted her SUV with hazard lights flashing and stopped to investigate. Initially, she claimed to have run out of gas, but upon further conversation, it became clear she was confused and had forgotten her cell phone. After searching her vehicle’s registration, Jones received a call about a missing person’s report and contacted her granddaughter. He then took the grandmother to the El Reno Police Department, emphasizing the importance of his intervention in ensuring her safety.

Mom pleads guilty to child neglect case a year later
SUMMARY: An Oklahoma woman, Amy Murray, has been convicted of child neglect following a June 2023 incident in which her 2-year-old son accidentally shot himself in the leg with a loaded gun found in her purse. Police discovered that while the boy was jumping on the bed, the gun discharged. Murray claimed she was unaware the gun was loaded and denied responsibility, but her statements contradicted evidence presented in court. Additionally, police found fentanyl pills at the scene. A year later, she pleaded guilty to three counts of child neglect and was subsequently booked.
