SUMMARY: More than 200 kids attended a free event at the library. However, during the event, the Jones County Sheriff’s Department made three arrests during traffic stops. Xavier Evans was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a stolen firearm, while Koreyon Darty was charged with trafficking a controlled substance. Investigators found more than 200 counterfeit Percocet pills in Darty’s possession. The Sheriff’s Department noted a significant increase in meth, fentanyl, and fake pill usage in the area and advised caution, especially in obtaining substances from legitimate sources.
