Trial date set for white father-son duo accused of trying to kill Black FedEx driver

SUMMARY: The trial for two white men accused of attempting to kill a Black FedEx driver in Brookhaven will begin on August 15. Brandon Case and his father, Gregory Charles Case, were indicted on charges of attempted first-degree murder, conspiracy, and shooting into a vehicle occupied by the driver, D’Monterrio Gibson. Gibson claims that one of the men approached him in a pickup truck and began firing at his van, causing damage. He was chased until the pursuit ended on Interstate 55. Gibson filed a lawsuit against FedEx, the city of Brookhaven, and the police chief in January.
