Traveling program “The Funeral is Cancelled” stops in Tupelo

During the program, children reenacted scenes depicting the harsh realities of violence, with some dressed in mock blood and wielding fake guns, while others displayed empty alcohol bottles to illustrate the consequences of drug use. Jennifer Lawrence, who witnessed the impactful program in West Point, helped bring it to Tupelo. The event culminated with a pledge from the children to reject violence, bullying, and to honor their parents. The next event is scheduled for Birmingham, Alabama.

At least 20 mailboxes vandalized in Monroe County
