The storm is moving east and is fueled by warm ocean waters and minimal wind shear. As Milton approaches the Florida coastline, it is expected to weaken slightly but will increase in size, posing significant risks for the Tampa area, particularly with potential storm surges of 10 to 20 feet. The situation requires careful monitoring as it could lead to critical flooding conditions.
