Tracking the Tropics
SUMMARY: Currently, the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean are calm, with no significant changes expected. However, a tropical wave in the Atlantic is under observation for potential development as it moves northwest towards the Turks and Caicos and the Bahamas. Presently, dry air limits its immediate development, giving it a 0% chance in the next few days. Over the next 2 to 7 days, its development probability increases to about 60%, although wind shear may affect it. The Sahara dust levels have decreased recently, which may also influence the system’s development potential.
