Tracking a strong cold front on Thanksgiving Day
SUMMARY: The cold front is currently moving through Arkansas and Texas, with light showers expected in the region by tomorrow morning. Morning temperatures may remain relatively warm in the 70s, but will drop throughout the day. Winds will increase, ushering in cooler air, reaching the 60s by evening. While light rain is possible for the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Day Race, it shouldn’t significantly impact the event. As the week progresses, temperatures will continue to fall, with highs only in the upper 50s by Friday and colder conditions anticipated for the weekend and into Monday.
Meteorologist Devon Lucie breaks down the cold front coming through on Thanksgiving Day, why it could be an “upside down” day for temperatures showing you what readings to expect outside your door in the morning, and what kind of temperatures you’ll find in the afternoon, how the cold front will impact events through the day, then how much colder we’ll get through the rest of the holiday weekend noting how strong the breeze will be and where your morning and afternoon temperatures are likely to be each day, then highlights the coldest morning we’ll find where an IMPACT Day is already in effect, and finishing with your seven day forecast.
