Top official at MDOC leaves under ‘sketchy circumstances’

MCBB: Previewing this year’s SEC Tournament bracket

Five years ago today: the COVID-19 pandemic begins
SUMMARY: On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic, leading to transformative global changes. In Mississippi, COVID claimed 12,614 lives and contributed to 15,480 additional deaths by 2024. The pandemic rapidly gained attention, with the NBA suspending its season on the same day. Mississippi’s Governor Tate Reeves issued a state of emergency on March 14, followed by a lockdown on April 1. Over the next year, various restrictions were implemented and eventually lifted by April 2021. As of May 5, 2023, WHO declared COVID-19 no longer a global health crisis, with significant changes to daily life and health protocols.

Late SuperTalk host Paul Gallo to be inducted into MS Top 50 Hall of Fame
