Tony-nominated Gautier resident's project could see Broadway again
SUMMARY: Tony Award-nominated co-producer Mark Erson is optimistic about bringing the musical adaptation of “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” to Broadway. Currently staged in Chicago, the show, based on the acclaimed 1994 book, weaves together elements of scandal and larger-than-life characters. Theater owners have until August 11 to decide on its Broadway potential, but interest is strong, with sold-out performances in Chicago. Erson, who was previously nominated for “Paradise Square,” reflects on his journey back to the New York theater scene, expressing satisfaction in keeping the door open for new productions. Broadway production could start early next year if successful.

If “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” gets picked up by Broadway theater owners, production could start early next year.
