SUMMARY: After a week of oppressive heat, temperatures will finally break, staying in the low 80s through the morning and rising to the low 90s by the afternoon. Rain chances will increase throughout the day, with thunderstorms likely in the evening. Mid 80s are expected by 4 PM, dropping to the upper 70s by bedtime. There’s a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for severe weather, primarily due to high winds and a slight chance of hail. The main storm line will affect northern counties by 5-6 PM and clear out by 8 PM. Scattered showers may continue into Thursday, with temperatures stabilizing in the low to mid-90s through the weekend. The tropics remain mostly quiet for now.
