Future farmers compete at Mississippi State Fair
SUMMARY: At the state fair, beyond the rides and food, exists a vibrant world of livestock showing. Young participants like 16-year-old Riley dedicate months to care for their animals, including calves and goats, preparing them for competition in 4-H andFFA events. This process involves early mornings of feeding and grooming, instilling a strong sense of responsibility. Families often pass down this tradition, creating a deep-rooted passion for the sport. While prize money and awards are significant, the kids cherish the opportunity to interact with fairgoers, inviting them to engage with their animals and share their experiences.
