House and Senate conferees are negotiating a compromise, with the main disagreement being the work requirement. The latest proposal from the House includes a work requirement of 80 hours per month for Medicaid coverage, while the Senate is pushing for 100 hours per month. Senate Medicaid Chairman Kevin Blackwell delivered a compromise proposal to the House, aiming to find a middle ground. Lt. Governor Delbert Hosemann expressed hope for the House to agree on the compromise to benefit thousands of Mississippians. Additional bills on education and PERS were also sent to the governor.
