Ripley vs. Itawamba AHS is FNF Game of the Week
SUMMARY: WTV 9 Sports, hosted by Jason Williams, is in its ninth week of Friday Night Fever coverage as playoffs approach. Arc of Northeast Mississippi seeking help with student-focused job fair
SUMMARY: The Arc of Northeast Mississippi is organizing an Inclusive Job Fair on November 7th, from 9 AM to 1 PM, at the Tupelo Furniture Market Building 4. Lawsuit filed against former Jackson State student Joshua Brown
SUMMARY: Shirley Brown, mother of Joshua Brown, has filed a federal lawsuit against Jackson State University (JSU) and several individuals after her son was wrongfully arrested for the shooting death of JSU student Jaylen Burns. The incident occurred on October 20, 2023, following a fight at University Pointe Apartments. Brown alleges that the campus police acted on false statements from members of Burns’ fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. The lawsuit claims that the wrongful arrest caused Joshua significant mental and financial harm. Former interim JSU president Dr. Elayne Hayes Anthony is also named in the action.
