SUMMARY: Hundreds gathered in downtown St. Louis to protest after the International Institute of St. Louis furloughed over 60% of its staff due to delays in federal funding and recent actions by the Trump administration, which suspended various immigration initiatives including refugee resettlement programs. Protesters expressed their concerns about the impact of these cuts on immigrant families reliant on essential services. The rally highlighted the importance of immigration in America, with participants emphasizing that the country was built by immigrants. The institute hopes to resume full operations once federal funds are restored, but there is no clear timeline for that.

www.youtube.com – KSDK News – 2025-04-07 05:56:53

SUMMARY: Jaguar Land Rover is suspending shipments to the US for a month due to new 25% tariffs imposed by the Trump administration on imported cars. As the US is a crucial market with over 200 dealerships, this pause will impact operations. Meanwhile, a 2023 study indicates that “buy now pay later” (BNPL) users often face high bank overdraft charges and late fees, negatively affecting credit scores. Additionally, many automakers are collecting driver behavior data, which can influence insurance premiums and loan terms. Consumers can limit data sharing but may lose essential features like roadside assistance by opting out.
