SUMMARY: Over the weekend, around 140 high school students attended the “Keys to Drive” event at Coastal Alabama Community College to learn about responsible driving. The event featured Mike Lutsen Kirkin, who shared the story of his son, Philip, a former Auburn athlete who died in a car crash in 2014. Inspired by this tragedy, the 43 Key Seconds initiative encourages drivers to take 43 seconds to ensure safety measures are in place. Students participated in various workshops on safe driving, including experiences with simulators and insight into trauma centers. Many left inspired to prioritize safety on the road.
