'This makes sense': How Mobile Fire-Rescue will protect firefighters from gunfire

Mobile Fire Rescue’s goal is to enhance safety after evaluating the risks, as indicated by last year’s fatalities, including two firefighters shot on duty. The vests, funded by a $117,000 security grant, have been integrated into active shooter and hostile environment training, preparing firefighters for unexpected and potentially dangerous situations during their response efforts.

Tactical vests have been installed in all Mobile Fire-Rescue response vehicles in an effort to protect firefighters from gunfire.

SUMMARY: Markieff Jackson has been arrested in Huntsville for a shooting incident that occurred Monday evening on Lance Wood Drive. He faces charges of aggravated first-degree assault against a non-family member and is detained on a $30,000 bond. Police arrived at the scene shortly before 4:30 PM and found a victim suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Huntsville Police said that Markeith Jackson has been arrested for the shooting on Lancewood Drive that happened on Monday.

“Arti Gras” aims to improve small Mobile park
