Third suspect arrested for fatal shooting in Sykes Park
SUMMARY: Jackson police arrested three individuals connected to a fatal shooting at Sykes Park in 2023. Detective Tommie Brown announced that Marqwan Weathersby, 22, was arrested on June 5, 2024, and charged with capital murder, auto theft, and arson. Two teens, Josh Williams, 16, and Janiyah Williams, 17, were also arrested on March 19, 2024, and charged with capital murder. The victim, 26-year-old Markell Brown, was shot on August 2, 2023, in the 500 block of Sykes Road, and his vehicle was subsequently stolen. Brown succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Mississippians prepare to help Hurricane Helene victims

Will Southwest offer flights from Jackson to Nashville?
