‘They were telling the truth’: Netflix show on Pascagoula Abduction makes more believers
SUMMARY:
Nearly 51 years after Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker claimed alien abduction along the Pascagoula River, Netflix's series Files of the Unexplained is reigniting interest. The first episode delves into their 1973 experience via interviews with Parker, his wife, Hickson's son, and others, reconstructing what is considered a significant close encounter. Publisher Philip Mantle notes increased public belief due to modern exposure. Initially met with skepticism, their story gained traction after police-recorded conversations and passing polygraphs. The incident impacted global media and UFO believers, eroding stigma and involving claims from officials about government knowledge of extraterrestrial life.
