The races to watch
SUMMARY: Democrats aim to reclaim control of the House while Republicans seek to take the Senate during the elections. Currently, Democrats hold a one-seat majority in the Senate, with incumbent Roger Wicker facing challenger Ty Pinkins in Mississippi. In the House, Democrats rely on Bennie Thompson to retain his seat, while Republicans hope Ron Eller can strengthen their majority. Michael Guest in Mississippi’s third district doesn’t face a Democratic challenger. Additionally, several judicial races are noteworthy, including a crowded Mississippi Supreme Court race, and other contested judicial positions in Hinds and Rankin counties are also being monitored.
