SUMMARY: Ward Calhoun is set to take over as the new Sheriff of Lauderdale County in November. He replaces Billy Sollie, who held the position for nearly three decades. Calhoun was officially sworn in and is humbled by this opportunity. He is looking forward to serving the citizens of Lauderdale County and continuing the growth of the sheriff’s department. In addition, Stella McMahan was sworn in as the newest coroner of Lauderdale County and is also looking forward to serving in her position. Several government officials were present during the inauguration ceremony, which took place just outside of the new government building.
