The new Irving leads Gautier past Moss Point 27-7 in return from injury
SUMMARY: Gautier’s junior quarterback Trey Irving had a strong performance in his return from injury, throwing for 279 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-7 win over Moss Point. Senior Kelvin Beavers, who had been filling in at quarterback, returned to his normal role as wide receiver and caught eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns. Moss Point’s starting quarterback, Chequin White, was injured in the first quarter and replaced by junior KeVon Ford. Ford was able to score a touchdown, but Gautier’s defense held strong for the win. The victory brings Gautier to 2-2 on the season.
