SUMMARY: In Pearl, the Brandon Bulldogs had the opportunity to clinch the Seven-A State Baseball Championship, aiming to sweep Hernando in the series. Bulldog fans urged them to finish the game. In the first inning, Keith Forbes put the ball in play, leading to a scoring error by the Tigers, allowing Jay McQueen to score. Brandon’s defense, led by Jackson Clark, secured a double play to thwart a Tigers’ threat. Clark, dominant throughout the game, shut out the Tigers and ended with a strikeout, securing a 1-0 victory for Brandon. They swept Hernando to win their first state championship.

The Brandon Bulldogs sweep Hernando in the 7a state finals with a 1-0 win in game two. Jackson Clark threw a complete game shutout and Jay McQueen scored the lone run in the top of the first inning for Brandon. The Brandon baseball team are champions for first time in almost 60 years.
