SUMMARY: The Bay St. Louis Historic L&N Train Depot, built in 1929, is a Mississippi Landmark and once played a central role in the community as well as being a filming location for “This Property is Condemned” with Robert Redford and Natalie Wood. It now houses the Hancock County Tourism Bureau and Visitors’ Center, the Alice Moseley Folk Art and Antique Museum, and the colorful Bay St. Louis Mardi Gras Museum. The latter showcases over a dozen elaborate Mardi Gras costumes created by Carter Church, celebrating the tradition and pageantry of the local all-female Krewe of Nereids with new designs each year.
