Thanksgiving forecast
SUMMARY: The weekend is expected to bring very cold air, with wind chills making it feel like the teens, and even negative temperatures in some areas by Monday morning. Friday night and Saturday will feel particularly cold, with single-digit sensations in mountainous regions. A cold front will approach, bringing milder temperatures initially, and some spotty showers. Rain will clear by late afternoon, leading into a dry Thanksgiving Day, though gusty winds could affect outdoor decorations. Possible flurries may occur in the mountains at the beginning of the week, with significant drops in overnight lows approaching freezing.

The town council also fired Green. Additionally, Judge William Seals called for a new mayoral election between John David and Josephine, which could take place in February. Deadly string of contaminations continues
SUMMARY: A deadly Listeria outbreak linked to ready-to-eat meat has resulted in the deaths of two infants in California, with nine others hospitalized. The CDC is investigating the outbreak, and the USDA has recalled 72,000 pounds of contaminated meat products across four states. This follows several other foodborne illness outbreaks, including Listeria-tainted deli meat, E. coli in McDonald’s onions, and contaminated organic carrots. Experts stress the importance of food safety and sanitation to prevent such outbreaks, urging consumers to dispose of recalled products and sanitize their refrigerators.

States say court must block Department of Education’s Title IX rule | National
SUMMARY: This month, states and private organizations requested the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals to overturn a district court’s decision permitting the Biden administration’s expanded Title IX rules, which include gender identity in sex discrimination laws. Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina seek a preliminary injunction against the Department of Education, arguing they are similarly situated to states already granted relief. The Department contends that noncontroversial aspects of the rule should go into effect. Legal battles have blocked the implementation of the rule in over half of the states and many educational institutions, delaying enforcement amid ongoing litigation.
