SUMMARY: Texas has filed a lawsuit against the Biden-Harris administration for classifying the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard as an endangered species, arguing it violates the Endangered Species Act. The state contends that the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) relied on flawed data and ignored successful conservation efforts by ranchers and the oil and gas industry. Attorney General Ken Paxton claims the classification undermines Texas’ economic development and is politically motivated. Additionally, Texas recently won a legal battle over the Golden-Cheeked Warbler designation, which had restricted property use and property values in Central Texas since 1990, reinforcing the need for USFWS to adhere to federal law.

SUMMARY: In October 2024, Georgetown’s Grumpy George pub was featured on Gordon Ramsay’s “Kitchen Nightmares.” Owner Karen Soeffker, facing closure, received a life-changing opportunity when Ramsay’s team contacted her for the show. Despite having no prior restaurant experience, she learned that her establishment was considered a “nightmare.” Ramsay renovated the pub and revamped the menu, adding his mother’s famous sticky toffee pudding. The experience, intense yet rewarding, revitalized the pub, attracting more customers. The episode airs Tuesday at 7:00 PM on Fox, but the pub has already seen significant improvements thanks to Ramsay’s intervention.
