Texas Senate passes bills to fight AI-generated sexual images of children, non-consenting adults
SUMMARY: The Texas Legislature is advancing several bills aimed at protecting against AI-generated explicit images used for harassment and child exploitation. The Texas Senate passed three bills: SB 20 and SB 1621, which update laws to include AI-generated CSAM, and SB 442, which criminalizes non-consensual AI-generated explicit content. Additionally, the Texas House is working on HB 421, allowing victims to sue creators of AI-generated explicit images, and HB 581, targeting businesses that create harmful AI content. Yolanda Saldivar trail wraps in Hoston (1995)
SUMMARY: In the Yolanda Saldivar trial in Houston, following the prosecution’s conclusion, the defense quickly rested its case after calling five witnesses, mostly motel employees. Lead defense attorney Doug Tinker emphasized the strength of their position. One key witness, Ruben Deon, contradicted a prosecution claim about Selena’s final words. He admitted he was distracted during the incident and did not hear Selena. The prosecution maintained the solidity of their case, with General Manager Barbara Schulz challenging the credibility of another prosecution witness. The trial’s atmosphere suggested the defense anticipated a challenging outcome as it approached closing arguments.

On October 23, 1995, the trial of Yolanda Saldívar—the woman accused of murdering Selena Quintanilla– wrapped up Houston Texas, after being moved from Corpus Christi.

Ex-Texas megachurch pastor indicted in Oklahoma on child sex abuse charges
SUMMARY: Robert Preston Morris, a former pastor of a Texas megachurch, has been indicted in Oklahoma on five counts of child sexual abuse. The charges stem from allegations that he abused a girl, referred to as C.C., beginning in 1982 when she was just 12 years old. Morris, who resigned last year after similar accusations surfaced, exploited his position as a traveling evangelist. His accuser, Cindy Clemishire, expressed gratitude for the indictment after decades of silence about the abuse. The Gateway Church, which Morris founded, stated their support for the victim and the legal process. Morris faces significant prison time if convicted.
