Terry 14-year-old killed in shooting
SUMMARY: A 20-year-old man, Jaylin Powell, has been arrested in connection to the shooting death of a 14-year-old boy in Terry, Mississippi. The shooting occurred on Eugene Street and the victim was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he later died from his injuries. Powell has been charged with second-degree murder and the gun used in the shooting has been recovered. Emcc hosts cooking for a cause competition

Aluminum Dynamics provides jobs for the community
SUMMARY: Gregg Whigham, operations manager at Aluminum Dynamics, spoke at Starkville Rotary about the progress of their $2.5 billion aluminum rolling mill project in Lowndes County, which is currently more than halfway complete. The facility will encompass 2.3 million square feet and is already creating hundreds of jobs, with over 1,400 contractors and nearly 400 employees on site daily. Whigham projects the facility will begin shipping metal by next year and anticipates that, by summer 2025, it will employ around 750 people, creating a total of about 1,000 jobs, including support positions within the community.
