Teens charged in shooting face charges across Pine Belt
SUMMARY: Two teenagers, aged 17 and 13, are facing multiple charges in three cities. They were arrested by Hattiesburg police for firing shots near William Carey University and are also facing commercial burglary charges in Petal and Laurel. The pair allegedly broke into Lott’s Pawn Shop twice and E-Z Money Pawn Shop hours before being captured in Hattiesburg. Several stolen weapons have been recovered. The police departments could not confirm if the stolen weapons were used during the shooting. Authorities urge parents to be more involved with their children’s activities. The suspects will be charged as adults for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Hattiesburg. Charges are pending in Petal and Laurel.
