Mississippi’s only owned natural spring water bottling facility celebrates its grand opening
SUMMARY: Inda Bay Spring Water, owned by Chef Batson and his wife Tracy, celebrated the grand opening of Mississippi’s only natural spring water bottling facility in Wiggins. Their family has owned the area since 1822, and they began packaging water in 2023. Batson hopes to share their pure, untouched spring water with more people, as the bottled water industry grows. The facility produces nearly 3,800 gallons of water per minute, with a goal of packaging 2 million bottles this year. Local advocacy group raises awareness for human trafficking with upcoming event
SUMMARY: Susie Harville of Advocates for Freedom is working to raise awareness about human trafficking, a crime affecting 42 million victims worldwide. The organization’s upcoming fundraiser, the Wild West Winging event, aims to highlight this issue. The Gulf Coast’s location along the I-10 Corridor makes it a hotspot for trafficking, with predators targeting vulnerable individuals. Carrie Helel, an advocate with firsthand experience, emphasizes the importance of recognizing signs of trafficking, including psychological manipulation and the exploitation of both youth and the elderly. The event, set for Saturday, will raise funds and educate the public on the growing issue of human trafficking.
The ‘Wild West Wingding’ should be a fun time, but the reason for the event is hardly a laughing matter.
