Teen suspect arrested in murder of Southern Miss football player pleads guilty

SUMMARY: Nytavion Shaw, 16, the last suspect in the murder case of former Southern Miss football player MJ Daniels, has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Arrested nine days after Daniels was shot at Ivy Row Apartments on June 11, Shaw faces a potential 40-year sentence. Three other teen suspects were arrested shortly after the incident on charges of capital murder and armed carjacking and have yet to be tried. Daniels was found unresponsive in his vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene. He was a standout athlete and top recruit, having previously played at Ole Miss.

Officer, civilian injured after vehicle crashes into Pearl police car on I-20
