Border Patrol agents arrest gang members, violent criminals | National

SUMMARY: U.S. Border Patrol agents continue to arrest criminals, including gang members, convicted felons, and Special Interest Aliens (SIAs) entering the U.S. illegally. Recent arrests in El Paso include a Latin Kings gang member with a violent criminal history, as well as four Iranians and two Egyptians attempting to avoid detection. Agents also apprehended individuals wanted for crimes such as hit-and-run and rape. In December, over 650 criminal border crossers were apprehended nationwide, including members of gangs like MS-13. Border Patrol, along with other agencies, also rescued over 300 individuals in December, while more than 55,100 criminal noncitizens were detained from fiscal years 2021 to 2024.
