Table Rock & Persimmon Ridge fires now considered a complex wildfire
SUMMARY: Two large wildfires in South Carolina, the Table Rock and Persimmon Ridge fires, are now considered a complex wildfire, meaning they are being managed as a single incident. The Table Rock fire has burned 1,156 acres, while the Persimmon Ridge fire is at 314 acres. Over 100 personnel are working to contain the flames, with bulldozers creating firebreaks. Though no structures are immediately threatened, around 500 homes are under voluntary evacuation orders. Difficult conditions, including hurricane debris and dry, windy weather, are complicating firefighting efforts. Burn bans remain in place in both North and South Carolina.

Trump fights back against judge’s orders as deportation flights to Venezuela continue
SUMMARY: President Donald Trump is challenging a federal judge’s temporary restraining order against his immigration plan, which includes using the Alien Enemies Act to deport individuals to Venezuela and El Salvador. The flight, which transported over 200 individuals, is part of Trump’s broader mission to deport undocumented immigrants, whom he claims are involved in violent crimes. Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro condemned the flights as unlawful, calling them kidnappings. Meanwhile, Trump criticized Judge Booseberg and announced plans to place tariffs on Venezuela. Additionally, a new partnership between ICE and the IRS will share information on individuals who paid taxes while being in the U.S. illegally.

The Trump Administration is calling a flight from the United States to Venezuela “the first of many” and an important part of a broader mission to return undocumented immigrants to their home countries.
On Sunday, Attorney General Pam Bondi appeared in an interview on Fox News “Sunday Morning Futures” and laid out the priorities of the plan.
