Swamp Rabbit Trail cleanup
SUMMARY: The main obstruction on the S RT is minor, transforming it into a small, swallow-like course. This obstruction is located near Christmas, close to the former hospital by Tr and the cemetery at Furman University.
Ty Houck with the Greenville County Recreation District said county workers, along with community volunteers helped to clear 15.4 miles of the Swamp Rabbit Trail in four days.

Greenville dogs adopted together after becoming best friends
SUMMARY: At the Greenville Humane Society, two special dogs, Raleigh and Boone, have formed an inseparable bond after spending over 400 days in the shelter. Raleigh, a timid dog, and Boone, who is deaf, helped each other during their wait for adoption. When the time came for Raleigh to be adopted, her new family opted to take Boone as well, recognizing their close friendship. The family’s decision allowed the dogs to find a forever home together, bringing happiness and companionship to their new family. Grayson and Daniel express gratitude towards the humane society for their support throughout the adoption process.

Editorial: John Humphries Says Goodbye

Community and music unite at Georgetown High to support young cancer survivor
SUMMARY: During a chorus concert at Georgetown High School, four-year-old Luca, a leukemia survivor, was celebrated for his inspiring journey. After battling leukemia for over two years and being off treatment for six months, Luca’s story, “The Chocolate Treasure Hunt,” was transformed into a song by composer Willie Cornish, alongside the school band. The story features Super Mario characters embarking on a treasure hunt with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, filled with action fitting for a young child’s imagination. Luca enjoyed his moment in the spotlight, sitting front row as his song was performed, showcasing resilience and joy amidst his struggles.
The sound of music is alive at Georgetown High School.
A special guest was recognized at the chorus concert for all that he had been through, and he just so happened to also be a part of the concert himself.
Georgetown High School turned someone’s struggle into a song.
