Suspected Birmingham mass shooter's lengthy criminal history
SUMMARY: Damien McDaniel, accused of killing six people and injuring 20 in a 72-hour spree, has a lengthy criminal history, including three attempted murder charges. While on probation for previous offenses, he committed these new crimes. McDaniel pleaded guilty to two attempted murder charges in 2019 and received a 15-year sentence, but was released after two years and placed on probation. The district attorney’s office filed a petition to revoke his probation due to violations observed on social media and the discovery of guns and marijuana during his recent arrest. He remains in custody with no bail and is due back in court next month.
