Suspect in George County sandbar shooting later shot in Alabama
SUMMARY: The George County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting on a sandbar along the Escatawpa River, where deputies found a seriously injured victim who was airlifted to a hospital and is expected to recover. Shortly after, a separate shooting occurred in Mobile County, approximately 30 minutes away, where the suspect from the George County incident was reportedly shot by a property owner. The two sheriff’s offices are collaborating on the investigations. As of Friday morning, no identities have been released, and authorities encourage anyone with information to contact the George County Sheriff’s Office.
