Suspect in deadly quadruple shooting had probation violations
SUMMARY: The search for Nicholas Murano intensifies after the NOPD tracked him using an ankle monitoring device. Officials point to a judge, Leon Rocher, for failing to act on multiple violations of Murano’s probation, despite officials’ efforts to revoke it. Murano had a history of offenses, including firearm possession and domestic abuse. The District Attorney, Jason Williams, expressed frustration that the violations weren’t addressed sooner, which could have potentially prevented a recent shooting incident that left one woman dead and three others injured. Murano was eventually located through the ankle monitor, but officials believe earlier action could have saved lives.
