Suspect arrested after man’s remains found inside burned Mississippi home

SUMMARY: A man, Billy Black, has been arrested and charged with first-degree arson and first-degree murder following the discovery of human remains in a burned Smith County home. The remains were identified as homeowner Frank Black, who died on May 3rd after a fire in the Homewood Community. Responding crews battled the fire for hours. Smith County investigators gathered sufficient evidence to charge Billy Black. Authorities are requesting anyone with additional information to contact the Smith County Sheriff’s Department.
