Sunday Tropical Update: Keeping an eye on three possible developments
SUMMARY: The tropical outlook indicates three areas of interest, none posing immediate threats to the Gulf Coast. One system bringing rain will move inland near Texas by Tuesday but has a low chance of organizing. A new wave with moderate development potential is expected to stay offshore, while another system moving slowly across the Caribbean poses a medium development chance. As of now, forecasts are uncertain; one model suggests it may develop and head toward Mexico, while another shows a messy system. This system could reach the Lesser Antilles Monday and may be named Francine if it becomes a storm.
Meteorologist Alexandra Cranford says we’re watching three possible developments in the Atlantic. However, there are no threats for our part of the Gulf Coast.

Louisiana Board of Optometry fails to document thousands in reimbursements | Louisiana
SUMMARY: The Louisiana State Board of Optometry Examiners improperly documented over $5,000 in travel reimbursements, according to an audit by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor’s Office. The audit, covering January 2022 to December 2023, revealed several issues, including lack of supporting documentation for reimbursements, duplicate meal charges, and expenses outside official travel dates. This marks the third consecutive audit with exceptions related to travel reimbursements. While the board disagreed with some findings, the newly appointed president noted progress in addressing prior audit issues, with only one remaining concern to resolve.
