Student arrested after bringing gun to Hancock High, authorities say
SUMMARY: Hancock Middle and High School received a message about a gun being on campus. School officials say a handgun was found on the high school campus. They are not aware of any threats made to the school. The sheriff was informed after someone saw a picture of the teen showing off the gun on social media. The student was arrested at home and the gun was recovered, though it was not loaded. It is unclear if the gun was loaded while on campus. The teen will appear in youth court.

Hancock High was under tight security Friday as students embroiled in a racially charged conflict led to worries about violence at the school.
