State leaders react to high marks on 2022-23 academic assessment

SUMMARY: The Mississippi Department of Education announced that student achievement scores in core subjects have reached an all-time high. For the 2022-23 school year, proficiency rates ranged from 46.7% in English language arts to 71.4% in U.S. history. He also underlined the role of the quick return to classrooms post-pandemic in maintaining academic progress.
