Stargazers struck by police car in Bay St. Louis
SUMMARY: Two teenagers, an 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old female, were struck by a police vehicle in the Washington Street Pier parking lot in Bay St. Louis while stargazing early Wednesday morning. The officer, conducting a routine patrol, was making a left turn in an unlit area and did not see them. The female victim suffered leg and hip injuries and was taken to Gulfport Memorial Hospital, while the male victim was assessed for minor injuries. Both have since been treated and released. The Waveland Police Department is leading the investigation, with assistance from other local law enforcement.
