Severe weather threat ends in Upstate South Carolina
SUMMARY: A powerful storm system has affected the Southeast, but its impact is now diminishing in Upstate South Carolina. While areas to the south, such as Macon and Augusta, are experiencing severe conditions, local winds have caused power outages, with gusts reaching nearly 60 mph in Asheville. Although storm activity is weakening, heavy rainfall and continued gusty winds of 25-35 mph are expected throughout the day. Despite lingering showers, conditions are forecasted to improve, leading to a pleasant mix of sun and clouds for Saint Patrick’s Day, with temperatures rising into the 70s midweek.
