South State Softball Titles Up For Grabs This Week
SUMMARY: The Southern Six is set to have at least two teams in the state softball championships in Hattiesburg, with the potential for up to five teams to qualify. In the 6A and 5A classes, the South State champions will be from the Southern Six, featuring matchups between Hancock and George County for the 6A title and East Central versus Vancleave in 5A. St. Patrick has advanced in 3A after a sweep, facing Wesson next. In 4A, Poplarville, having defeated Bay High, will compete against Purvis. Additionally, George County is in the running for its third consecutive South State appearance in 6A, facing off against Hancock. The 7A class sees Ocean Springs challenging the unbeaten Northwest Rankin, the 6A state champions from the previous year. The state championship series begins on May 14 at the Southern Miss softball complex.
