Neighboring areas, including Zephyrhills and Wesley Chapel, have seen significant flooding, leading to road closures and evacuation warnings for those in low-lying regions. Rescue crews, including the sheriff’s office and state guard, used airboats to help residents escape over the weekend, as many faced rising waters threatening their homes. In some neighborhoods, such as Silver Oaks, water levels reached residents’ doorsteps, causing substantial property damage and leaving many without flood insurance. Efforts continue as rescues are ongoing.

SUMMARY: At 10:24 a.m., we stopped at a 7-Eleven near Exit 111 to fill our cars with gasoline due to uncertainty about fuel availability at our destination. Although we were informed there would be gas for our return trip, we decided to take the opportunity to refuel while parked. Additionally, we picked up some energy drinks to keep us going for the remainder of our journey.
