SUMMARY: As South Carolina prepares for the 2024 election, election officials are enhancing measures to ensure integrity and security of the voting process. Howard Nap, executive director of the South Carolina State Election Commission, anticipates a record turnout of 2.5 to 2.8 million voters. They have invested $30 million in new, secure voting machines that are internet-free, along with additional ballot marking devices to alleviate potential line delays. He emphasizes civility and encourages reporting any improprieties to local election offices for investigation.
