SOS accuses GS Partners Global of selling fraudulent investments in Mississippi
SUMMARY: Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson has issued a cease and desist order to GS Partners Global, its chairman Josip Heit, and their Mississippi agent Richard L. Shoto for selling fraudulent investment certificates related to digital assets and a proprietary metaverse. The order alleges that GS Partners marketed “MetaCertificates” which investors were enticed to buy and pay for additional features to supposedly increase value and potential profits. GS Partners did not register these investment offerings and were accused of operating without the proper licenses. Additionally, the investments were promoted through a multilevel marketing strategy and multiple online platforms. The order prevents the parties from further illegal activities involving unregistered securities.

Healthcare leaders gather at state capitol to advocate for Medicaid expansion
SUMMARY: Healthcare leaders and advocates in Mississippi gathered at the state capitol to urge lawmakers to expand Medicaid, a move supported by figures such as Kimberly Hughes from the American Cancer Society and Dr. Dan Jones, former vice chancellor at the University of Mississippi. They argue that Medicaid expansion could bring billions in federal dollars, support struggling hospitals, and provide healthcare to over 200,000 people. Despite opposition from Governor Reeves, who calls it “welfare expansion,” advocates remain hopeful that the conversation will continue. Legislators aim to navigate challenges, including Trump’s potential Medicaid overhaul, to find a solution that meets the state’s needs.
